I had a 2010 Ford Fiesta and it was indestructible. Really cute too and had moodlights. It was totaled in 2017, but I got about 30mpg on it. My bf’s sister has a 2008 model and has pretty good city mileage on it too. Def check with your local car dealer on price though if you’re interested. Good luck!

The fiesta is lighter with much less power so it feels more nimble akin to a sports car. The focus feels heavy but much more powerful much like a muscle car. 1. [deleted] • 7 yr. ago. I'm not sure I'd say the Focus is more like a muscle car. The thing still handles quite well for a hot hatch, definitely not floaty at all.

If your thinking about buying a Ford Focus or Fiesta dont. My Focus has been in an out of the shop for the past 2 months with serious transmission issues. I constantly stall out in the middle of intersections and all Ford had done is play games with me. They replaced the module once, replaced the clutch, and replaced the clutch seals.
The ford fiesta is the least safe modern car you can buy in America currently with 141 deaths per million registered vehicle years according to the IIHS, the focus has a death rate of half that. if you care about your safety at all buy the focus.
Definitely check out the Honda Fit. Stay VERY far away from the automatic fiestas or focuses. They use a terrible power shift transmission that’s been failing for years and is under a class action lawsuit. Even when it’s working it’s a dual clutch, and it’s very jerky in many slow traffic/stop and go scenarios. A lot of people here are answering assuming you are in the US, where the fiesta was only available as a 2011+ model. In Europe, the sixth generation was available from 2009+, so it will have the same problematic DCT transmission. The only exception is the 1.4 liter diesel, which was sold with a 4 speed auto.
